Prep Transition Program

Welcome to Yarra Road Primary School. We are please that you have chosen our school and look forward to getting to know you and your child.

Next year there will be two Prep classes. The teachers are Judy Haysom and Jodie Ross. You will be able to meet Judy and Jodie at our Transition Program which has commenced this Term.

During the First Transition session (Friday 9th October) you are invited to attend an informal, introductory meeting/chat with our Principal, Bruce Bower. This will occur at 2:15 in the school library. It will conclude around 3 at which point you can return to the Prep rooms. Do not worry if you are not able to make this meeting.

Sessions 1 and 2 will be held in the Prep Unit (Rooms 1 and 2). Room 1 is located in the canteen courtyard and Room 2 is the first room in the corridor on the right.

During Sessions 3 and 4 your child will be introduced to the specialist program that operates at Yarra Road with 30 minute sessions in Art, Library, Music & P.E. (we don't worry about Indonesian until next year). Please bring your child to the Prep room at 2pm and collect them at 3:15pm as usual. They will be taken to the specialist areas as a group.

Session 5 will be back in the Prep Unit. At the end of this session you will receive a letter notifying you of your child's class for 2010.

Session 6 will be on Tuesday 8th December. On this day the children will work in their classes for 2010 and they will meet their 'Big buddy' from Grade 5. The session will run from 9am - 12:50pm. Please include play lunch and lunch for your child.
